I love food and wine. When I was going to Law School in San Francisco in the 1980's, my friends and I made regular trips to Napa. We always stopped at V. Sattui, where we had a fabulous picnic with the great artisan and local foods from their deli. When I started Vin du Lac, I really wanted to provide my guests the same experience. I was also inspired by trips to Paris and Provence, and dining al fresco - either street-side or in the countryside - with a good bottle of country wine, was another experience I wanted to capture.
We started small, with a selection of charcuterie and imported and artisan cheeses. Every year we grew a little, and soon were offering a bistro lunch menu. With the addition of our classically educated executive chef, we have evolved to a true full-service bistro, with light cuisine offered throughout the day and a full bistro dinner menu in the evenings. We put down a cute little wine patio, and in the warm months it's all Lake Chelan country charm: Great food, hearty wine, surrounded by vineyard and orchard, with views through the trees of the lake. I love nothing better than dinner on the Vin du Lac Patio. Come visit us. You will too!
